I was the It’s About Time Scholarship winner in 2018, and the Abingdon Foundation sent me to Heli-Expo in Las Vegas, NV. Not only was the conference amazing and inspiring, but the women of the AF went out of their way to introduce me to people, get me into networking circles, and make the conference extra special. Part of the scholarship benefit is choosing a watch. Abingdon told me she was working on a tactical watch so I wanted to wait until it came out and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. I had already owned a Katherine and an Amelia prior to winning the scholarship and I wore one of the two every day. But since I got the Jane in Covert, Jane has been my daily go to. It is so lightweight and comfortable to wear that I sometimes forget it is on my wrist. I am a helicopter pilot working long days in the hot sun and I never even feel the watch is there. When I’m not working, I’m either gardening or playing outside and it is the PERFECT watch for sports and working outdoors. The band is made out of rubber so you don’t have to worry about sweat or sunscreen, and it is easily adjustable by cutting the end if you don’t want it so long. It doesn’t fray and looks exactly like the factory cut when you trim it. The band is long with the purpose of fitting over a dry suit but since I won’t use it that way, and my wrist is small, trimming it to fit worked perfectly. I absolutely love my Amelia and my Katherine, but Jane has quickly become my best friend watch.
I purchased the Katherine in Storm at a silent auction benefiting the Whirly-Girls, after a fierce bidding war. It is worth mentioning that not only is Abingdon a creator of beautiful watches, but the company is also hugely philanthropic. Between the Abingdon Foundation which serves to support women in the STEAM fields and encourage young girls to explore STEAM, and their support of other organizations that empower women on their career paths, this company does a whole lot more than just making watches. You can feel good about spending your money here. Back to the watch…it is absolutely gorgeous! I have gotten so many compliments on it over the years and I mostly wear it when I dress up, but I have also worn it while I work as a helicopter pilot and it is as durable as it is beautiful. I send it in regularly for battery changes and to be looked over. You’ll want to do that. I took it to a local jeweler for a battery replacement once and it stopped working properly because they didn’t put the seal on right. It’s worth having Abingdon service your watch, and it will last much longer that way. Katherine is a stunning watch. If you are considering it, you won’t be disappointed!
I have three Abingdon watches, but Amelia was my first love. I had been looking for a women’s pilot watch and seen the Abingdon collection online and was intrigued by this beautiful and functional watch. An E6B? Seriously, on a gorgeous watch? I’m kind of an E6B nerd so that was a huge bonus. That year I went to my first WAI conference and the Abingdon booth was my first stop. I thoughtfully looked over the collection but Amelia was my girl. I purchased the steel band to go with it and 11 years later, not only is it still ticking but also looks perfect. I had cracked the crystal at one point and they fixed it, and I’ve sent it in over the years to be looked over and have batteries replaced. Their customer service is excellent, their repair prices are reasonable, and they even remind you when it’s time to replace your battery. I can’t say enough about this watch. It is perfect and classic and will last.
The Amelia is a beautiful and finely-crafted watch with amazing features such as GMT and currency conversion, that are usually found on more expensive watches. Kudos to Abingdon Customer Service for sending photos of the Amelia and the Jackie worn by a staff member so I could compare sizes. The Amelia is perfect for my size 7 wrist! Also, supporting a brand created and run by women that encourages women in STEAM is worth the price!!
I received the Alligator Blue band as a gift to go with my Elise North Star. It is absolutely stunning and takes the watch to the next level of beauty! Often bands that are blue, pink, or green often look cheap. This Alligator band is superb and looks expensive. I am grateful that I received this as a gift but I feel it is still worth the price. If I could give it TEN STARTS, I would!!
I received the Amelia watch in Steel as a gift for my 21st birthday and wore it for my commercial checkride. I'm so glad I did! I had to show I was capable of using an E6B and when I dropped mine, I was able to use the one in the watch. I love this watch so much and I've worn it often since receiving it over a year ago. It's as pretty in person as in the photo and the quality is amazing. If it wasn't gifted to me, I would have bought it myself.
I have nothing more meaningful in my entire jewelry collection than the Marina Dive Watch. Why? Because of the awareness it brings to STEAM and the development of young minds to challenge themselves, to challenge the future & to go beyond!
The colors are beautiful on this watch. What I noticed when wearing it was it the sparkle when the light hits it. Like diamonds. I like the 10 atm water resistance, the stopwatch feature and the sapphire crystal. A sapphire crystal is a must for me when buying a watch. No scratches and strong. The bands that came with the watch are all beautiful too. I especially like the red silicone for everyday although all of them can be. This is my 6th Abingdon watch and it won’t be my last.
I’ve been looking at this watch since WAI 2015 in Dallas. I purchased the seaplane green and the green crocodile band to change the look and it’s stunning! I love the crystals around the bezel, the mother of pearl, and the E6B. It is such a beautiful and classy watch. I also own the Katherine and the Elise. Depending on the type of flying I’m doing, I’ll take a couple with me and switch them out on different days. Abingdon Co. is a great company that puts out amazing quality watches.
I hope this is the last time I have to send it in
This watch is beautiful. I chose the cherry colored face because I wanted something different. I especially love wearing it with the silicone band for everyday. I get lots of compliments. This was my 4th Abingdon watch. I have 6. Oh, and I don’t dive. I just love watches. This brand is outstanding.
As an Aviator, an operational timepiece is more than just an accessory, it's a legal requirement and a valued safety item. I'm so thrilled to return to the skies wearing my Elise again. Thank you MK and the Abingdon team.
It’s really fantastic and looks great! Customer support was awesome!!
I am so happy with my Marina Dive Watch. It is really fantastic and so well made. The wonderful team at Abingdon do such a great job also with customer support. I love my watch and certainly recommend buying one!
This is the second watch I’ve ordered from Abingdon. This is going to work beautifully now that I’m going to the B777 and will be doing international flying. I never liked the other time zone watches that I’ve seen for women. The Elise is elegant and beautiful. I love the fact that it has the Zulu time hand. I wish she would make the Jaqueline with a Zulu hand! I would purchase it faster than I can run for my commuter flight home!
I paired my Amelia Pilot watch with the black oil tan leather band with contrast stitch. The perfect style for the runway black version. Casual elegance. High quality and comfortable fit.
It was super easy to switch out, and the silicone is very comfortable. The only negative is that there aren’t more fun summer colors.
I mailed it to them and they had it back within a week or so. Per their directions, I mailed it to them with the crown pulled out to help in shipment. I assumed that I would have to set the watch back to my current day and time when it arrived. I thought it was great that they set the day and correct time per my time zone so it was ready to wear immediately! Great company and great customer service!
Easy and the turn around time is quick!
